The main problem was the communication between Sharaid and surrounding villages on the other side of the river. There used ti be a traditional wooden cantilever bridge, which link Shariad with other villages, but during the devastating 1992 flood, this bridge swept away .The community used to construct the temporary wooden bridge each year and the community feel a dire need to construct permanent bridge.
The bridge constructed by PCDP links Sharaid , Kuz Seer ,Bar Seer and the other surrounding villages .The total direct beneficiaries are 963 and there will be indirect beneficiaries will use occasionally use the bridge. The villagers have about 1099 Livestock and they are using the bridge for crossing the river.

The Community based Organization formed with the aim of Biodiversity Conservation in Feb, 2002, with the Motivation of PCDP staff. As the CBO formed, they repeatedly requested for construction of Water mills and river protection spur. Site is located near to the high flood level but there was no other communal land .Keeping in mind the risk involved and repeated request of Kuz and Bar Paro CBOs , 400 feet long channel and a protection spur [Gabion Materials] (2700 cft) was constructed at the site.
The Contribution for the mill from all the surrounding villages is the indicator of common interest. PCDP constructed River Protection Spur and water channel but the water mill is still under constructionBack to Top
